As celebrities and fashion insiders prepare for one of the biggest red carpets of the year tonight, an unsuspecting source has already set the bar high for this year's Met Gal a honoring Japanese designer Rei Kawakubo .

Pet couturier (yes, that is a thing) Anthony Rubio recreated three of Kawakubo's iconic designs for Comme des Garcons in tiny dog versions for two chihuahuas who just became the breakout stars of the Met Gala. Despite not actually walking the red carpet, the pups really mastered the avant garde theme for the night.

"As a tribute to Rei Kawakubo being honored by the Met Gala, I decided to recreate in my signature canine creations, three ensembles as done by the genius for her brand Comme des Garcons," Anthony Rubio said in a statement.

While we're excited to see how Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and perhaps even a very pregnant Beyoncé dress for tonight's Rei Kawakubo theme, is there really anything that can top chihuahuas wearing avant garde fashion? Doubtful.
