Queen Elizabeth II has revoked Harvey Weinstein's royal honorific of Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, reported Entertainment Weekly.

The disgraced movie producer was given a CBE back in 2004 honoring his contributions to the British film industry. This past March, however, Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison after being found guilty of two felony sex crimes, including rape in the third degree.

"The Queen has directed that the appointment of Harvey Weinstein to be an Honorary Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated January 19 2004, shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name shall be erased from the Register of the said Order," read a statement from Buckingham Palace in The Gazette.

Though the queen oversees the appointing and canceling of royal honorifics, the British government's Cabinet Office ultimately influences the decision process.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson tells BAZAAR.com, "Forfeitures are not that uncommon. We don't comment as Her Majesty acts on the advice of the Forfeiture Committee, which sits under the Cabinet Office."

Weinstein's predatory behavior was one of the driving forces behind Hollywood's Time's Up movement, which propelled prominent actresses, including Angelina Jolie, Lupita Nyong'o, and Gwyneth Paltrow, as well as studio executives to speak out about their experiences of sexual assault and harassment at the hands of Weinstein, and the industry as a whole.

"The trauma of sexual assault and harassment is lifelong—we can only hope that today's sentence brings all of the survivors of Harvey Weinstein some measure of peace," read a statement from the Time's Up Foundation following the news of the Weinstein verdict. "We also hope that these women take pride in knowing the impact they have had on our culture at large."
